Manu Foundation is young. Its corpus is limited. It will take several years for the beneficiaries of the Stepping Stones Scholarships to start paying back. We should also expect some beneficiaries to fail to give back. We need generous donations especially in the first 7-10 years. The number and quality of the scholarship will depend squarely on the donations received.

There are different kinds of donors:

those who make a substantial one-time donation (Rs 2.5 million or more) for instituting a named scholarship
those who donate smaller or larger sums periodically
those who donate things (eg books, computers, etc.) for awardees in the same city

Major donors (donation of Rs 2.5 million or more) can institute named scholarships if they wish to.
